Frank's worries were genuine. Since he chose this Captain, he wasn't the kind of person to betray him.
So, he had to give it his all. Besides cooking, he wasn't truly good at fighting. Otherwise, with his Devil Fruit, he wouldn't have been caught so easily.
He could bully weaker opponents with his powers, but against stronger opponents like that Marine Captain, he would be completely helpless.
He wanted to change that. He wanted to gain the power to take revenge. Just as his Captain said, unless they were strong enough, they could' take revenge.
But getting stronger wasn't easy. He didn't even know what he could do to get stronger except exercise.
Sure! Exercise would help, but he wasn't sure if it would be effective enough.
Several questions rang in his head, but his cooking wasn't disturbed. Despite having those thoughts, he perfectly cooked every single one.
There was barbecue meat with fresh rice, veggies, and even salad on the side. The fragrance of the barbecue was so good that Tyler woke up.
"Wow! Did you cook this meal?"
Tyler's surprised voice rang from the door.
When Frank and Miya heard him, they turned towards the door.
Frank nodded while Miya happily waved her hand.
"Good afternoon, Captain! Are you happy with your nap?"
"Yeah! I feel a bit refreshed but super hungry. Frank, did you cook this?"
Looking at Frank, who was near the chopping board, he asked.
"She might not even know what wok is, Captain."
Tyler completely ignored his ridicule of Miya. His face was beaming with excitement when he got the confirmation.
"Damn! That's amazing! So, not only are you a Devil Fruit user, but also a cook. This means I don't have to search for a cook anymore."
He raised his finger and counted.
"I have a combatant who is also a cook. A navigator who can also fight. Now, I just need a shipwright, a doctor, an archeologist, a helmsman, a musician, and finally a sniper."
Miya waved her hands and said.
"Captain, you forgot me."
"Didn't I count you as a Navigator?"
"No, I am also a sniper. Look!"
She threw a small ball, the size of her thumb, towards the sky and raised her gun. Before Tyler could react, she fired the bullet.
Bang!
The ball shattered into small pieces in mid-air.
"Wow!"
Tyler's eyes widened in shock as he watched his Navigator snipe such a small target from at least fifty meters of distance.
"So, while I was napping, one of you became a cook while the other became a sniper?"
Miya chuckled at his words.
Tyler shrugged his shoulders and asked.
"Still, though, I didn't know you would be such a good sniper, Miya. With you, we wouldn't need a sniper."
"Well, when you have to spot food from a garbage can before others, you gradually develop better eyesight."
Miya proudly stated while putting the pistol in its holster.
But her words made Tyler's expression dark.
"I'm sorry, Miya! I didn't mean to make you remember your bad memories."
Miya gave him a surprised look before shaking her head as she said.
"Captain, you don't need to show pity about my past. It is what made me what I am today. Without it, I wouldn't be this Miya."
"My past might not be good, but it gave me the strength to fight other pirates and marines. It gave strength to survive any kind of situation."
"It made me strong from the inside, Captain. So, never show pity for my past. Because I can't stop talking about it. Hahahaha!"
Tyler's eyes practically glowed when he heard her words. He knew Miya was a strong woman.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have liked her, considering her identity as a pirate captain who liked to force others.
But he never thought she would have such a strong heart.
"Hahaha! Miya, I am glad to have you in my crew."
Tyler ran next to her and tightly hugged her, while patting her shoulder.
"Of course, Captain! I am also very glad to be in your crew."
Miya's hands started moving towards his thigh before he could even react.
When it reached close, he immediately jumped away.
"Ahem! I think we should eat now. Frank, I'm hungry!"
He shouted before sitting next to Frank.
Miya chuckled as she sat next to him. As Frank served them on their plates, he couldn't help but whisper.
"Vixen!"
"Yes, I am."
Miya proudly stated.
Frank couldn't help but raise his anger. But seeing his captain enjoy his meal, his temper went down, and he also started eating.
'Humph!'
Seeing his defeated look, Miya proudly smiled and started eating.
As they were eating, Frank spoke.
"Captain, we found quite a lot of items and treasures in that ship. Just as you expected, it was organs trafficking ship."
"But that wasn't all. That ship seemed to be one of the several ships that are supposed to reach the Grandline within two weeks."
Hearing that, Tyler narrowed his eyes but then shook his head.
"I can't do anything about that, Frank. In fact, I thought about it before and realized that unless my influences grow exponentially, my efforts won't change me."
"If this were a slave trading ship, at least, I would've saved some people. But with this, I am just stopping an inevitable."
Frank let out a sigh when he heard that. He was truly worried that his Captain would do something as absurd as going after those ships.
After all, they barely had a boat, not even a proper ship to sail into the grandline.
"So, what did you find in those bags?"
"There should be several million berries alongside a few gold bricks and a few pieces of jewelry, guns, different kinds of weapons, and a few Den Den Mushi."
"They also had something like this."
He took out a few of the Permanent Log Pose and two normal Log Pose.
"Log Pose!" Tyler cried out in surprise.
"You know these, Captain?" Frank asked. Even Miya looked at him with curiosity.
"In the Grandline, a traditional compass doesn't work."
He said while pointing at the compass on Miya's wrist.
"People navigate using the magnetic field of an island. Log Pose can pick up the magnetic signal of an island from long distances."
"Using it as a navigation, crews can travel between islands. But due to the distortion of different magnetic fields, weather in the Grandline becomes unpredictable."
"Its main function is to record the island's Magnetic signature before resetting it and pointing it towards the next one."
Hearing that, Miya picked up the log pose of different sizes and asked.
"Captain, which one should I use?"
Tyler pointed at the names on the Log Pose and said.
"Those with the names are Permanent Log Pose, meaning they don't reset the Magnetic Signature they store."
"It is used to bypass other islands and travel directly to a certain island. For example, this Log Pose has Jaya written in it."
"Jaya is a famous island in the Grandline. That's where most people find their Log Pose pointing towards the sky."
"So, if we use the route shown by this Log Pose, we can directly reach Jaya as long as we can survive the ride to the Grandline."
"So, only this Log Pose is useful."
He said while tapping on a wrist-type Log Pose.
"You can start wearing these now. It is necessary to keep the Log Pose safe while fighting, so you can get used to it before entering the Grandline."
Hearing that, Miya nodded her head, but one of her hands was covered in food, so she didn't put it on her wrist.
"Captain, do you have any methods to get stronger?"
Originally, Frank was planning on finding ways on his own. But when he heard his Captain talking about Grandline, he changed his mind.
After all, this was West Blue, but his Captain knew the Grandline and the islands on it so clearly.
This could only mean one thing. He wasn't lying when he said he knows a little bit of everything.
Tyler nodded.
"There are currently two ways for you to get stronger. Train your ability and develop a certain move set."
"Training your physique. If you have a strong body, I can directly point you to a certain physical training."
"But if you don't, then you can start with regular exercises. Even I am doing this. Right now, my body is strong only due to my Devil Fruit."
"So, my plan is to push my body to its absolute limits before training any other techniques."
Hearing that, Miya's eyes lit up as she asked.
"Then, captain, can you help me? I feel like I have reached the limit of my growth."
Tyler shook his head, which disappointed Miya, but he quickly answered.
"You are wrong. Even if you don't have talent, even if you are an ordinary person, as long as you are willing to put in effort, you can become stronger."
"There is no such thing as a limit. Only time and effort are required."
