"Caught in the crossfire?" Su Ming gave a bitter smile. There was more to this than met the eye! But now wasn't the time to dwell on it. He could only admit his own inadequacy—he hadn't defeated the enemy.
Tian Keke smacked Su Ming on the back. "Damn it! I stayed up all night waiting for good news! I knew my man could do it, but you come back here all dejected? At least pull yourself together if you couldn't save her! What's this pathetic act? Get off the bed!"
Tian Keke couldn't resist kicking Su Ming. He collapsed to the floor, the sudden impact sending a wave of pain through his existing injuries. "Ouch!" he yelped, his body wracked with agony. Only then did Tian Keke notice the severity of his wounds. Her heart ached as she quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were hurt."
Tian Keke quickly helped Su Ming up and unbuttoned his clothes, only to find his body covered in red, swollen bruises and two deep knife wounds. Her heart nearly broke at the sight. Finally understanding that Su Ming had done his best but still ended up in this state, she realized the enemy must be incredibly strong—otherwise, they couldn't have defeated him, a man who could single-handedly take on over a dozen enemies and remain invincible.
"Does it hurt? Let me rub it for you!" Tian Keke's eyes glistened, and a single tear traced a path down her cheek.
"It's fine. I've already been treated," Su Ming said through gritted teeth, enduring the pain.
Tian Keke finally relaxed. "Damn those bastards! They'll pay for this. Su Ming, you have to go back and settle the score!"
"Of course. How could I not?" Su Ming replied with a half-smile, his teeth clenched.
"Then why do you look so dejected? I thought you'd lost your fight after being beaten up so badly!" Tian Keke said, frustrated.
"Come on, I just got thoroughly beaten up. Can't I be down for once? Let me wallow in it for a bit, okay?" Su Ming said with a wry smile.
Tian Keke rolled her eyes. *What a weirdo! Getting beaten up and still holding back?* "Is there any way we can go back and settle the score?" she asked.
"Well, of course," Su Ming replied with a smile, his mood lifting considerably. He mused inwardly, *Women truly are the best healers.* Just spending a little time with Tian Keke had already lifted his spirits. *Alright, it's time to pull myself together and get stronger.*
Suddenly, Su Ming turned and pinned Tian Keke beneath him. Her heart skipped a beat, and her cheeks flushed as she vaguely guessed what was coming.
"Now, I'll ask you this," Su Ming said. "Will you be my woman? Will you give me your first time? I may not have many advantages—no status or wealth—but my feelings for you have always been genuine!"
