Chapter 11 - Operation Drug Rush (2)

Missio walked through the hallway, his footsteps unheard. After a while, he halted near a rusty door. He narrowed his scarlet eyes, activating his X-ray vision. However, this time he didn't see anyone within.

'I swear I saw him here… where did he go?'

Pushing the door open, the Lieutenant General stepped inside the large room. Rust and moss plagued the walls as a foul stench covered the area. Missio scowled, pinching his nose. He scanned the room trying to find any trace of Will. However, he was unsuccessful in his endeavor.

'Am I in the wrong room or…?'

Right then, a voice cut through the air.

"Hey…who are you?"

Missio stiffened. He swiftly spun around, his heart thumping.

There was no one.

Missio exhaled, unsheathing his katana. He knew he wasn't hallucinating. That voice was real; he was sure of it. But the question was… where did it come from?

He furrowed his brows, raising his blade.

"Come out."

Only silence responded to him. However, a few seconds later, a defeaning laughter echoed across the room. Missio frowned as reality unveiled itself.

A young man with blonde hair, blue eyes who wore an all-grey outfit with a green jacket sat on a small couch with a rather fancy staff by his side.

Missio thought for a moment and frowned.

'He looks the guy Dick described…'

He cautiously gripped his katana.

"Hey…are you gonna answer my question?" The boy asked again.

"…You're Sun Daishen, aren't you?" Missio replied.

Sun shrugged, gripping the staff at his side.

"Yes, who doesn't know my name by this point."

"Then, tell me… have you recently been in contact with… Dick Quartel?" Missio began circling the complex.

Sun chuckled, standing up.

"I don't know who yer talking 'bout. There are lotta dudes name Dick Quartel."

Missio cut him off, his voice becoming darker and more serious than before.

"You know exactly who I'm talking about… The National Assemblyman – Dick Quartel."

Sun paused for a moment, lowering his head. Missio halted in his tracks as well, raising his weapon. Sun raised his staff as well, a dark grin spreading across his face.

"Oh, then… I know him… too well."

Alarmed, Missio stepped back slightly. However, right then, he felt a push on his chest. He lowered his head and saw that Sun's staff… was poking at his chest.

Missio's face turned pale as he lifted his head but…Sun was still at the same place. Only his staff had extended to reach his chest. Missio pushed the staff aside.

"I see you have some tricks up your sleeve."

Instantly, Sun disappeared from where he was standing. Missio blinked and stepped aside. Sun appeared and struck the place Missio had been standing with all his might. The floor shattered under the weight of the staff.

Missio positioned himself once more. Narrowing his eyes, he stared at the man in front of him.

Truth be told, he had lied to his team just now.

Sun was no mere Chaos incarnate. He was far beyond one – just like Missio.

Missio had felt power similar to his own when had looked at the drug lord. However, he couldn't be sure so, he had to check himself. Now, his suspicious were confirmed.

Missio exhaled heavily.

'He shouldn't have knowledge of such power. It's a tightly kept secret of the Royal families…'

Wanting to make sure, Missio opened his mouth as the drug lord straightened.

"Sun Daishen… Are you a Transcendent?"

Sun paused for a moment, rotating towards Missio. Missio gulped, cold sweat rolling across his skin.

"The hell you mean?" Sun glanced at the insignia on Missio chest.

Missio froze. Then, heaved a sigh of relief.

'I thought he was actually a Transcendent… Thank Pangea he's not… but how does he have the Will of an Awakener.'

But before, he could delve deeper into his conspiracy, Sun called out to him.

"…You're from the black ops, aren't ya?" Sun placed the staff on his shoulder. "Just because Dick got caught, you're biting more than you can chew. You should get outta here before I kick yer ass."

"You kids and your weird talk. Didn't your mother teach you manner?" Missio scoffed.

"In fact, she did not, you old man."

"I'm twenty-six and your mother might need to learn how to be a better parent."

"Sure – sure, I totally agree with you." Sun said as he approached Missio.

"Sun Daishen – stand back. You are hereby under arrest under the cause of selling illegal drugs and being in-arms with another criminal."

Sun's lips parted, preparing to retort the officer. However, just then, he heard a gunshot echo. The two men froze, their eyes widening. Sun blinked, furrowing his brows.

"So, shots have been fired, huh…"

The drug lord's power suddenly surged. Missio raised his katana, preparing for battle. As Sun's fury began to climb, his eyes sparked as he growled in a dark tone.

"Even when they sent the Police or the Juggernauts, they still couldn't catch me…"

He lifted his head, looking at Missio.

"I haven't been caught for five years… and I won't be today."

In the disco room, all the people were on the ground with their hands behind their heads. Both Krishna and Henry pointed their guns at them.

"Remember… Nobody move." Henry reminded them.

Right then, they heard a gunshot from the next room. The enforcers eyes widened in shock. The people who were being held at gunpoint, shuddered in terror. Some even fell back; their eyes filled with tears and their legs trembling.

Krishna glanced at the wall, muttering in a soft tone.

"So, shots have been fired, huh."

However, that would not be the last of the shock he would experience.

Because, right after the sound of the shot faded, he felt a sudden burst of Will. Krishna's pupils dilated, confusion and shock taking over his psyche.

'No way… this Will is at… the level of an Awakener?'
