Chapter 55 - OPERATION : MAKE IT OFFICIAL

JAY'S POV

It's been three days since the Robin incident. And believe me, I tried. Like, I genuinely tried my absolute best.

I wanted to tell Keifer the truth. I wanted to tell him that I forgave him. That I wasn't angry anymore. That I wanted us to be official.

Simple, right?

No.

Absolutely not.

Because every single time I tried, something happened. Sometimes his company would call. Sometimes mine brothers interrupt us. Sometimes one of our classmates would appear out of nowhere and ruin the moment.

And even when nobody interrupted us...I somehow managed to sabotage myself.

The moment I got the chance to say it, I would panic, say something stupid, and run away like a criminal escaping a crime scene. At this point, I was starting to think the universe hated me.

Right now, I was sitting inside our classroom while everyone else was busy doing their own thing.

Ci-N, Calix, Drew, and David were having some kind of serious meeting. Denzel was on a call with Grace. Josh and Eren were asleep as usual. Edrix and Rory were working on their laptops. Eman, Blaster, and Felix were throwing pieces of paper at each other. Kit and Mayo weren't in class. Yuri was absent because he had a fever.

And I had sent Keifer to buy food for me. Because I was hungry. And because I was too lazy to go myself.

I rested my chin on my hand and sighed. I was so bored. That's when I overheard Ci-N talking.

"I will surely become a pilot one day. Otherwise, my airplane will be of no use."

I immediately sat up.

"Yours? You have an airplane?"

My voice came out louder than intended. Ci-N nodded casually.

"Yeah. My own."

I stared at him.

"Your own airplane?"

"Yep."

"An actual airplane?"

"Yep."

I blinked several times. This idiot was fifteen years old. Fifteen. His parents wanted him to become a doctor. How the hell did he own an airplane?

"Ci-N...Are you serious?"

"Of course." He shrugged. "Keifer gifted it to me for my birthday."

The entire classroom went silent. I slowly turned toward him.

"He WHAT?"

"I said Keifer gifted me an airplane."

Before I could continue questioning reality itself, the classroom door opened. Keifer walked inside carrying a bag of food. The moment he saw me staring, he frowned.

"What happened?" He placed the food on my desk. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

I pointed dramatically at Ci-N. "You gifted him an airplane?"

Keifer looked at Ci-N. "Yeah. He wanted to become a pilot."

He said it like gifting aircraft to teenagers was completely normal. I stared at him.

"Keifer."

"What?"

"He's fifteen."

"I know."

"Fifteen."

Keifer nodded. "Relax, He can't fly it until he's twenty-two."

I placed my head on the desk. "God! You really have too much money."

Keifer smiled. "No."

I narrowed my eyes. "No?"

He leaned slightly closer.

"We both have. Everything that's mine is yours."

The entire classroom went dead silent for exactly two seconds. Then chaos erupted.

"OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

I nearly dropped my food.

"Did you all hear that?" Rory shouted dramatically.

"'Everything that's mine is yours,'" Eman repeated in a deep voice.

Felix clutched his chest.

"Your Honor, I'd like to present Exhibit A: Married behavior."

"OBJECTION!" I yelled.

"Overruled," David replied immediately.

The entire section burst into laughter. Ci-N stood on top of a chair.

"I KNEW IT!"

"Sit down before you break your neck," Drew said.

"I refuse! The people deserve the truth!"

"What truth?" I groaned.

Ci-N pointed dramatically at me and Keifer.

"THE HUSBAND AND WIFE AGENDA!"

The classroom exploded.

"HUSBAND AND WIFE!"

"HUSBAND AND WIFE!"

"HUSBAND AND WIFE!"

The chant spread through the room like a virus. I wanted to disappear. Immediately.

Keifer, the traitor, looked completely unbothered. Actually...The idiot looked pleased.

"Stop encouraging them!" I snapped.

"I'm not doing anything."

"Your face is encouraging them!"

That only made everyone laugh harder.

Edrix looked up from his laptop. "At this point, just put a label on it already."

"Exactly," Rory agreed. "You two are literally dating without the title."

"Correction," Eman said. "They've been acting like a married couple for months."

"Facts."

"Certified facts."

"Peer-reviewed facts."

I buried my face in my hands. Why was my class like this?

Meanwhile, Ci-N was still refusing to sit down.

"Keifer!"

"What?"

"When's the wedding?"

The classroom lost whatever sanity it had left.

Keifer leaned back casually. "Not yet."

My eyes widened.

"KEIFER!"

"What?" he asked innocently.

Ci-N gasped.

"HE DIDN'T DENY IT!"

"OH MY GOD!"

The screaming somehow got louder. Even Josh woke up.

"What happened?"

"THEY'RE GETTING MARRIED!"

"Cool."

Then he immediately went back to sleep. I stared at him. How? Just...how?

Meanwhile, Keifer casually placed a juice box beside my food.

"Eat."

The entire section screamed again.

"HUSBAND!"

"WIFE!"

"HUSBAND!"

"WIFE!"

My face felt like it was on fire.

"Shut up!"

"No."

"Please?"

"Still no."

I groaned and grabbed my food before moving to my seat at the back of the classroom.

The teasing continued anyway. Apparently distance wasn't enough to save me. But while everyone kept laughing and making wedding jokes...

My mind was somewhere else. On one specific person. On one specific conversation.

And suddenly...An idea appeared. A way to finally tell him. A way to stop running away. A way to finally say the words I had been trying to say for three whole days.

I smiled to myself. Yeah. This time, I wasn't backing out. This time...I was finally going to make us official.
