Chapter 3 - REAL FAMILY

AUTHOR'S POV

She was standing on the stairs of a shop, her arms wrapped around herself, tears falling endlessly.

A car suddenly stopped in front of her.

A tall man stepped out—broad shoulders, a handsome face, and concern written all over it. The moment he saw Jay crying, he rushed toward her and pulled her into a tight embrace.

"No one is going to hurt you anymore. Your Kuya is here," he said softly. "Come on, let's go home."

He gently guided her into the passenger seat before getting into the driver's seat himself. Without another word, he drove straight to his mansion.

Jay didn't look surprised.

She got out of the car, walked inside like she had done it a thousand times before, and sat on the couch, clutching a pillow tightly to her chest.

A few moments later, he sat beside her

"Care to explain why my baby is crying?" he asked, his voice softer now.

[He was none other than Crisanto Delos Reyes—Cris for short. CEO of Reyes Corp.Jay's senior from Holy Saints. Her Kuya.]

He treated her like his own sister.

After losing his real sister, his world had collapsed. He had been alone—an orphan, drowning in grief—until Jay came into his life. She stayed. She supported him. She became his little sister.

But when Jay beat Cyrus and feared she might hurt him too, she distanced herself… and eventually transferred to HVIS.

CRIS'S POV

I was happy when she finally called after almost a year.

But the moment I heard her voice… something felt wrong.

My stomach dropped.

I didn't wait. I grabbed my jacket and drove like a madman.

And when I saw her…

I felt relieved… and completely broken at the same time.

I knew—if she called me after so long, things must be really bad.

"I won't force you to talk," I said gently. "Cry all you want. Let it all out."

And she did.

For almost an hour.

When her sobs finally quieted, I handed her a glass of water.

"Now," I said, my tone turning serious, "tell me everything—from the day you joined HVIS until now. And don't leave anything out."

JAY'S POV

So I told him everything.

How I ended up in Section E.The bullying.The accidental kiss.Getting involved in their lives.The kidnappings.My bond with them.My engagement.My feelings.The retreat.Aries…And everything I overheard in that room.

He listened patiently.

He always does.

He didn't interrupt. He didn't get bored. He reacted to everything—just like he always used to.

"I'm going to kill that Angelo—what makes him think he can control you—"

"Kuya," I cut him off. "That's not even everything."

I still didn't know about the full plan… or the bets.

But I had a bad feeling.

Things were going to get worse.

"I already made a huge mistake leaving you alone," he said, his voice firm now. "But not anymore. Tell me, baby—what can I do for you?"

"Prepare a partnership contract with some big investors for Angelo's company," I said coldly. "And my custody papers."

"I'm done being a Fernandez."

"I won't let them hurt me anymore."

"As you wish," he replied without hesitation. "From tomorrow onwards, you're living with me."

"Sure," I nodded. "And Kuya… something's been bothering me."

"How does Section E always find me? I never tell them where I'm going… but they still show up. Especially Keifer."

"Give me your phone."

I handed it to him.

A smirk slowly appeared on his face—the kind I knew very well.

"What?" I asked. "Did you find something?"

"There's a hidden app on your phone—OTJ101. Definitely a tracking app."

"I will kill Edrix with my bare hands," I snapped.

"You sure about that?"

"Fucking sure."

He chuckled lightly. "Do what you want. I've got your back."

He paused.

"What about Keifer?"

"He loves me," I admitted quietly. "But first… I need to know the truth about those plans and bets."

"I'll go to school tomorrow."

"Let's see how much worse things can get."

I think the old Jay Jay is back," he said with a small smile.

I let out a dry laugh. "If the old me comes back… it's going to cause chaos."

"I know," he said. "And Percy might meet you tomorrow too. He said two days, remember?"

"Yeah," I sighed. "At this rate… I might be dead tomorrow."

"Nothing will happen to you," he said firmly. "I'm here."

He handed me a small box.

"Take this."

I opened it.

A watch.

"Thanks… but why?"

"It's not just a watch," he said. "There's a tracker inside. Press this button, and I'll instantly know you're in danger."

"I'm giving it to you because I know… you'll need it."

I smiled faintly.

You really are the best, Kuya. I love you."

"I love you too," he replied softly. "Now go to sleep. Tomorrow's going to be a long day."

"I know. Good night."

"Good night."

I walked into one of the guest rooms…

…and finally drifted off to sleep.
