Sabrina walked into the servants' quarters with her hands clasped behind her back, two guards following closely behind her. A wide, satisfied grin remained plastered across her face as she stepped into the long corridor.
The girls, who had been preparing to retire for the night, immediately turned to look at her.
Their eyes widened.
Sabrina was no longer wearing the plain, threadbare servant's clothes they were accustomed to seeing her in. Instead, she was dressed like someone who had suddenly remembered that she belonged to an entirely different world.
Yet it was not her fine clothes that held their attention for long.
It was the two armed guards standing tall behind her.
The servants exchanged uncertain, frightened glances as Sabrina slowly walked between them, her eyes drifting from one girl to another while she hummed softly under her breath.
At the end of the corridor stood Cynthia, the head servant, watching her approach with her arms folded firmly across her chest.
