Seven swallowed a hard lump, his gaze fluttering. His heart swelled at Rodrigo's words, and a genuine smile touched his lips.
"That was touching, Rodrigo. I didn't realize you trusted me this much."
Rodrigo sighed, dropping his hand from Seven's shoulder. "You've proven yourself to me, time and again. There's no reason for me not to trust you."
Seven's smile widened slightly as he scratched the back of his neck. "Thank you. I'll always have your back."
A moment of heavy silence stretched between them as they stared out at the cavern of ancient relics. Seven cleared his throat, eager to shift the topic before the atmosphere grew any more awkward.
