ELARA'S POV.
Why couldn't anyone see the spear plunging in our direction?
I saw a shadow, neither beast nor human jump through the dark shades of the tree. I had to make sure I wasn't seeing things but as I squinted my eyes to double check, the long spear appeared out of nowhere like it formed in the air.
I crouched, pressing my head between my thighs as it smashed against the windscreen of the car. Raya fell on her knees too.
I waited for the glass to shatter all over the armored car, but nothing happened except a strange silence. I slowly raised my head along with Raya, noticing the spear only caused a small crack on the glass. It was bullet proof.
"Thank goodness," Raya heaved.
I gnashed my teeth and smashed my fists against the base of the car. "We are not supposed to be here, Raya!"
"Speak for yourself," she shoved me back and stood up in the car.
