Raya's POV.
A mess, a huge fuckin mess was what I showed up to in the middle of the night to sweep under the rug, to contain and deescalate. The stench of cold blood filled the air, the bodies on the floor littered like plastic wraps, smearing the floor with pool stains of blood clot. The sight of it makes it too hard to think. The damage, the figures to hide this, the lives lost.
How could this happen? I ask myself as I stroll down heading towards Kael's confinement. This wasn't his handiwork. I knew it, he has never gone on a rampage like this, not even once had he taken a life for no reason, but this right here was a monster of monsters.
The reinforcement I called for went deeper while I took my time to assess the losses and the excuse I would have to give. George pops up in my head and I feel goosebumps crawl on my skin. What was I going to tell him when he received the news? Worse, I was absent when it all happened.
