My mind broods endlessly over the shocking revelation Raya said to me. The world have a way of breaking people, and I can only imagine what she had been through. The criticism, hypocrisy and all. Her heart has been turned to stone even if she started with a good motive.
I know I have to help her. If what she says is true, then I have to stop George from getting the truth. Together, we can make them give up on finding Kael's home.
Night quickly draws close and most of the workers retire home. I wrap my arms over my chest and begin to think back on the incident that happened earlier. The jolt that passed through my body felt instantaneous. I could not scream, I did not even have time to scream.
It felt like my blood was completely dried from my body. My brain was shut off, yet somehow, I survived.
