Raya's POV.
Elara stares at me in disbelief, the only sound we can hear is the continuous beep of the cardiac monitor beside her. She blinks and let out a sigh as she looks away.
"Stop it, Mrs Raya. It's not gonna work," she hisses and repositions her leg.
"Of course it isn't, they never believe me," I reply, turning my back and leaning my right arm on the wall. "I'm a woman too, Elara. I have feelings, I know what it means to watch someone suffer, to make hard decision while a man sits in a luxurious mansion waiting for results that you worked hard to get,"
"I am a woman who have been put in your position too, I have tried to fight against the system, I have been put in places that defy my morals, I've been abused, I've been toyed with, I have been…" I pause breathing hard as I shut my eyes to stop my tears from trickling down my cheeks.
"Raya," Elara calls softly, sitting up and stretching her hands towards me. "I didn't know," she whispers.
