But in that instant, her connection to the space was severed. What prevented her from sending the Tree of Life's seed into her space was the black, devouring power emanating from Lex Cross's hand.
"Lex? What are you doing? I'll put the seed in my space to let it root and sprout first, then transplant it out."
Archie chimed in, "I say, General Cross, you don't want this Tree of Life for yourself, do you? It's an incredibly powerful thing, after all."
Lex Cross shot Archie a glare. "Shut up."
Archie adopted a look of cavalier indifference. "Tch, I was just asking. Who wouldn't want the Tree of Life? If it were me, I wouldn't have bothered asking—I would've just taken it."
