She swam straight down into the sea, but by the time she reached the bottom of the raft's protective barrier, the black seawater was still nowhere in sight. It was receding very quickly.

Frustrated, Lucy White slapped the seawater beside her, but she held her breath and continued the descent.
Soon, a black shadow shot past her, heading down.
