Wrapped up tightly, Zachary Pierce gestured to the other two. He walked to the door himself, lowered his voice, and asked, "Who is it? Can't you leave us alone? This place is ours now."
"Just wanted to ask if you guys want lunch. If you do, it's only one coin per person."
"No thanks. For that price, I could eat two meals outside." Zachary Pierce had actually overheard other Evolved Zombies mention the prices, though he didn't know the specifics. Still, it was a safe bet to bring it up now.
"It's raining out there. Going outside is dangerous."
"Skipping one or two meals won't kill us."
The person outside clearly hadn't expected that answer. They muttered a few curses before leaving resentfully.
Faye Yardley gave him a thumbs-up. She hadn't realized he could alter his voice, mimicking someone after hearing them just once.
For now, this place could serve as their base.
It was just that the rain outside seemed to be getting heavier and heavier.
