It was destined to be a restless night.
As more and more people returned to their rafts, the messages in the national channel flew by so fast that the text became an unreadable blur. Faye Yardley paid it no further attention. She was currently out on the balcony, enjoying the evening breeze and the delicious food prepared by Willow Yardley.
NOM NOM NOM. Blackwood happily scarfed down its portion of food on the table.
Sitting opposite Faye, Cole Kensington occasionally picked out bits of meat and vegetables from his own bowl and dropped them onto Blackwood's plate.
"Kingston, it's not good to be a picky eater," Faye said.
"I'm not. I'm not a picky eater at all. I just saw that Blackwood likes them, so I gave it to him."
Faye gave him a pointed look. "It better be."
After dinner, Faye wiped her mouth and said, "Let me introduce a new little companion for you guys."
