Special fishing rods weren't supposed to catch living things. Faye Yardley had accepted this as a rule, but what was this situation?
Faye Yardley stared at the human-shaped ice sculpture lying in the thatched shelter. 'Is he dead, or just frozen solid?'
If he was dead, what was she supposed to do with a corpse? Store it in her warehouse?
"Willow, take a look. Does he have any signs of life? Or is he just a statue?"
Willow Yardley scanned him and then said, "All his internal organs are intact, but there's no heartbeat, his blood isn't circulating, and he has no consciousness."
"So he's just a frozen person. What should we do now? Throw him back into the sea?" Faye Yardley had never imagined she'd fish up a person one day.
She had been caught and pulled up by Leo Sloan's fishing line before, but this was a different situation, right?
Of course, she wasn't entirely sure. The whole thing just had her feeling flustered.
