At first, he cried his heart out, but his sobs gradually grew quieter until his voice went hoarse and he couldn't make a sound.

The sun set, and the last ray of light vanished from the horizon.

The streets grew deserted, with barely a soul in sight.

Josie Quinn still didn't rush him.

Though she had family, it was as if she had none. She couldn't truly know the pain of losing a loved one.

But the bond they shared, a brother and sister supporting one another, made her icy heart stir.

"Miss, thank you," the boy said, his voice completely changed.

"You helped me, and I've returned the favor."

"Right. Miss, you can go back. I'm going back too."

He carefully pulled the burlap sack up, covering his sister's face.

"Where are you going?"

The boy faltered. "We have a place in the tent district."

'He has backbone,' she thought. 'Most people would have bowed their heads and begged for help.'

'Especially since he had already helped her once.'
