Lightning struck the zombie. It let out a piercing shriek, and guided by the sound, Lucas Lockwood swiftly fired an ice arrow.
Everyone heard the zombie's cries from inside the cave, and their hearts sank.
"Josie, be careful! The zombie got in."
Josie Quinn gripped her dagger, alert to any movement, while Lucas Lockwood and Felix Fields rushed deeper inside.
"I've been bitten! Ah! I've been bitten!"
A man cried out in a panic.
"Don't panic! Stay together. Don't give it an opening."
Just as Lucas Lockwood finished his warning, Josie Quinn suddenly smelled the thick stench of blood nearby.
Then, Felix Fields's voice rang out, "I'll draw it out. Lucas, you follow me. Josie, you keep an eye on the person who just got hurt."
To a zombie, the blood of a superpower user was as irresistible as catnip to a cat.
So, when Felix Fields cut himself and the scent of blood spread, Josie Quinn saw a shadow flash past her. She knew it was the zombie, following Felix's trail out of the cave.
