But she still tumbled, most of her body landing on the man. She must have hit a sensitive spot, as he let out a muffled groan.
Josie immediately recognized the voice as Felix Fields's.
She shifted, trying to get up, but the hand gripping her waist only tightened.
"Felix, let go." Worried about waking Lucas Lockwood nearby, Josie kept her voice to a whisper.
But not only did Felix not let go, he wrapped an arm around her waist and swiftly flipped them over, putting him on top of her.
"What are you doing?"
Lucas Lockwood was lying not far away, and Rhona Cameron and Jane Alden were still on the bed.
Even though she couldn't make out Felix's face in the dark, she could feel the intense, oppressive aura coming from him.
"Josie, the day I was hypnotized… that was you, wasn't it?"
The hand Josie was using to push him faltered.
'He knows?'
Remembering what he had done to her that day, Josie's cheeks began to burn.
"It wasn't me. Now let me go." She refused to admit it.
