"Sierra, wait!"
"I have something to say to you!"
"Could you please walk over there with me for a moment?"
Joy Warren's eyes were filled with pleading, and her words were just as earnest.
Even though Joy looked truly pathetic, Sierra didn't feel the slightest bit of pity.
"No. If you have something to say, say it here. If not, we're leaving."
Joy bit her lip. "Do you have to be so cruel to me? We're both women. Can't you understand why I did what I did?"
"No." Sierra shook her head. "I can't understand your actions, and I don't want to."
"You!"
Joy was about to flare up in anger, but she suppressed it before it could show.
After taking a deep breath, Joy finally said, "I just want you to help me tell Mr. Crawford something. I chose to leave him not because he's a bad person, but because he couldn't give me what I want. He's a good man. I'm the one who let him down."
"Anything else?" Sierra asked.
Joy shook her head. "No, that's it."
"Then we'll be going."
