I had never seen this much violence in my life.
I watched through the screens as wolves tore into one another for the sake of a stupid plant while the crowd cheered like it was a festival.
At some point I couldn't take it anymore, so I went back to my chambers, forced down some food, rested for a short while and then returned.
Mai had refused to come with me offering no reasons at all.
The Silent blades had returned first, hours ahead of the others, and the crowd had erupted the moment they crossed the line.
With every wolf reported fallen, the spectators grew more frenzied.
The blood marshals came in next, followed closely by the black enforcers. Then came the Crimson Howlers.
Finally the last group emerged from the gate: two l latents and one storm sister.
The latents looked like they had been dragged through the forest, caked in slimy substances but they were upright.
The rest of the storm sisters and the Woodpeckers were nowhere to he found.
