Qiao An rushed home. Although the cuddly Little Fox wasn't there, Little Bai and Little Qing still poked their heads out from under the covers, wagging their tails.
"Didn't you promise to buy us some freshly killed chickens?"
Qiao An, who had already eaten her fill, suddenly remembered that she had promised to buy the two large pythons live chickens for a treat before she left.
"Sorry, sorry, I ran into some trouble and completely forgot. My apologies. I'll get up early tomorrow, go to the morning market, and pick out the two fattest, freshest ones for you. How does that sound?"
Little Bai, seemingly unbothered, burrowed back under the covers. Little Qing, however, slithered up to Qiao An unwillingly, coiling around her with a resentful gaze.
"Sigh, you have no idea what kind of crap I had to deal with today. How did I get so unlucky? Everywhere I go, someone turns up dead."
