It felt wonderful to be taken care of. Qiao An nestled obediently in her hospital bed as Uncle Sun bustled about and Aunt Yun chattered away beside her. The environment was a little noisy, but she felt as if the people and events before her were straight out of a TV drama. The scene was so blissful it felt unreal.
Just as Qiao An, enjoying a rare moment where she didn't have to put on a brave face, was being helped to a drink of water, a set of footsteps sounded from outside the hospital room door.
Soon, Xie Shan poked his head in. The dark circles under his eyes looked even worse, but the moment he saw Qiao An, he immediately put on an enthusiastic smile, showing not a single trace of his troubles.
