Wyatt Walsh was still carrying the pineapple bun and milk tea she had bought. Having spent so much time by Mr. Keaton's side, he instinctively kept a watchful eye on his surroundings.
The streets were packed, and a cacophony of noise came from all directions.
But the light, gentle voice on the other end of the line was exceptionally clear. "What did you have for lunch?"
"Egg waffles, a pineapple bun, cart noodles, and milk tea."
Preston Keaton's expression softened. His Adam's apple bobbed as a low, faint chuckle escaped him. "Just the things a little girl would love to eat."
His gentle teasing made Evelyn Grant's face flush. She bit her lower lip. She had a rebellious streak but didn't dare talk back too brazenly, so she just let out a tiny huff. "Well, I *am* a little girl."
A smile touched Preston Keaton's lips. "Mm," he hummed indulgently, his voice low and languid. "Brimley is crowded. Don't wander off. Stay close to Wyatt Walsh, and I'll pick you up for dinner tonight."
