When Olivia Wynne heard the name Zachary Fairchild, she subconsciously stopped in her tracks. The name felt very familiar, but after standing there and thinking for a good while, she couldn't remember where she might have met him. An amused smile touched her lips as she shook her head and turned to leave.
'It was just a vaguely familiar name. I have no idea why I stopped like that.'
William Wynne had been standing by the sinks waiting for Olivia Wynne. When he saw her turn to leave, he strode after her.
Just as they were about to reach their private room, William Wynne stopped Olivia Wynne. "Wait a moment before we go in."
Olivia Wynne turned to glance at William Wynne and instantly understood his intention. She looked toward the door of the private room, her eyes glinting with a bit of schadenfreude.
After they had stood by the door for about ten minutes, William Wynne said to Olivia Wynne in a low voice, "Let's go in."
"Alright."
With that, she turned to follow William. Just then, she saw the two girls from the restroom again, entering the private room next door.
Olivia gave them a passing glance before entering the private room, not paying them much mind.
Inside the private room, only some of the men were still there. All the women had gone.
Mr. Linden sat with a frosty expression a few feet away from Mr. Warren. The other men followed his lead, all keeping a wide berth.
Shawn Warren and Leo Reid remained in their seats, their expressions as placid as ever, as if nothing had happened in the room at all.
Mr. Warren, his face bruised and swollen, was practically slumped on the floor in front of Shawn Warren, seemingly begging for something.
After William Wynne entered, he glanced at Shawn Warren and said coolly, "Tell him to get out."
William Wynne's words cut off Mr. Warren's pleading.
"You heard him. Now scram," Shawn Warren said coldly, his legs crossed and his eyes narrowed.
Mr. Warren opened his mouth, about to say something more, but Shawn Warren's next sentence stopped him short.
"If you say another word, you can forget about staying in Imperia."
Although Shawn Warren could be reckless at times, a man didn't get to his position without a certain degree of cunning. Mr. Warren knew Shawn was not someone he could afford to provoke, and he fully believed Shawn could really have him thrown out of Imperia. Not daring to say another word, he scrambled to his feet and hurried out of the room.
After Mr. Warren left, the room was quiet for a moment.
Shawn Warren uncrossed his legs, a smile returning to his face as he raised his glass. "Come on, Mr. Linden. Let's drink."
With Shawn Warren smiling, Mr. Linden and the others respectfully raised their glasses and drank with him.
The atmosphere in the room improved considerably. However, with the women gone and after the earlier incident involving Mr. Linden, the mood had shifted. Although things were less tense, Mr. Linden and the other executives were now far more cautious and wary around William Wynne's group.
Because of this, Mr. Linden and his associates didn't try to make William Wynne or Olivia Wynne drink with them again. Olivia was able to finish her meal in peace.
With the women gone and Mr. Linden's group wary of the status of Shawn Warren and the others, the drinking portion of the evening didn't last long. The dinner party wrapped up within about an hour. Mr. Linden took a phone call and was the first to excuse himself, and the other executives soon followed suit.
Soon, only four people remained in the room: Olivia Wynne, William Wynne, Shawn Warren, and Leo Reid.
Shawn Warren had a waiter clear the main courses and bring out some dessert. The four of them remained seated, in no hurry to leave.
Olivia glanced casually at William Wynne. Seeing him sitting on the sofa, watching Shawn Warren with narrowed eyes, she knew he must have something to discuss with him. Olivia lowered her gaze, sitting quietly to the side and focusing on her dessert.
