"Sis, he's a bad guy. He's the one who wouldn't let me see you. You need to stay away from him."
After Jace left, Lionel started complaining, his eyes filled with obvious displeasure toward the man.
Once he'd had his say, he recalled what Jace had just said. He then pulled Phoebe's hand, looking her up and down before frowning. "Sis, why aren't you eating properly? Are you misbehaving again?"
"Brother, I'm not. I'm just not hungry." Phoebe pushed Lionel's wheelchair into the room. "Brother, wait for me in the room for a bit. I'll go down to eat now and bring some up for you, okay?"
"Okay, hurry up and go. Go eat."
"Okay."
Phoebe gave Lionel a few more reminders to wait quietly and call for her if he needed anything, then she finally went downstairs.
When she got downstairs, she saw that Jace was already cooking.
The man's back was to her as he skillfully chopped vegetables.
She couldn't see his expression, nor could she understand why he was doing this.
