Phoebe Faulkner didn't know why Jace Lennox had told her to come to his room.
But Jace Lennox had already shut his door and gone back inside.
So she didn't ask.
She pulled her gaze away and looked back at the pile of magazines in front of her.
Phoebe Faulkner read and took notes until ten-thirty, then set down her pen and magazine, stood up, and went to Jace Lennox's room.
Not knowing what Jace Lennox wanted made Phoebe Faulkner feel a little nervous.
She stood at the door and knocked.
She heard Jace Lennox's voice from inside. "The door's unlocked."
Phoebe Faulkner pushed the door open and walked in. Jace Lennox was sitting on the bed in his pajamas.
Phoebe Faulkner stood still.
Jace Lennox looked up at her, then glanced toward the bathroom. "Go get cleaned up."
Phoebe Faulkner tensed at his words.
She looked at Jace Lennox warily.
