Jace handed the bowl and chopsticks to Phoebe, just as she used to do for him. Seeing her look of utter surprise, a clear sign she was underestimating him, he quirked a corner of his lips. "What do you think?"
Phoebe took the bowl and chopsticks and eagerly began to eat.
The moment she took a bite of a delicate pastry, she couldn't help but gasp.
'Holy shit, this is so good.'
Jace knew Phoebe's tastes intimately. He was aware of all her preferences, down to her slightest quirks and habits. As she ate like a starving refugee, he poured her a cup of tea. "Slow down. No one's going to fight you for it."
"Mmm-hmm, so good, this is delicious," Phoebe mumbled with her mouth full. "Mr. Lennox, your cooking is on par with a five-star chef's! To think I used to try and show off in front of you—it was like teaching a fish to swim. I was really blind to your talent."
Jace sat down and took a light sip of his tea, a profound look flashing in his eyes.
