Phoebe didn't know when Jace would be home. She was even more afraid that he would arrive before her and discover she had snuck out. So, she turned and ran to the roadside, hailed a taxi, and returned to the villa.
Less than half an hour after she got back to the villa, Jace came home too.
Hearing the sounds at the front door, Phoebe breathed a silent sigh of relief. 'Thank goodness I got back so quickly, or I would've been caught.'
When Jace opened the door, he saw Phoebe standing in the living room.
He noticed the young woman seemed to relax with relief when she saw him. He frowned slightly, strode over to her, and reached out to feel her forehead. "Feeling better? Do you still feel unwell anywhere?"
Phoebe blushed at Jace's familiar gesture and averted her gaze awkwardly. "I... I'm fine now."
