Phoebe Faulkner was suddenly grabbed, and for a moment, her mind went blank. Her reactions were a beat too slow. She started to turn, but before her head was even fully around, Jace Lennox slammed her against the wall.

'What's gotten into him?'
'Is it because I came home late? Because I didn't make him dinner?'
'But he knew I had to go to the office for my first day. Didn't he even pick out my clothes for me?'
