Phoebe Faulkner could see she had managed to placate the men for now, but she felt no sense of relief. At this point, all she could do was stall for time and pray that Robin Morgan would find her.
She was a lightweight. Once she started drinking, she couldn't stop, and she'd end up going on a drunken rampage.
But it was obvious the men in front of her were very interested in getting her drunk.
She'd already been forced to down several drinks, and her head was already spinning. But if she refused and went head-to-head with them, she was afraid she wouldn't last until Robin Morgan arrived. She looked at the laughing men. "To be honest, I really can't hold my liquor. But since everyone's having a good time tonight, I'll risk it all to keep you gentlemen company. Whatever you want to drink, I'm in."
