With Jace Lennox back, Phoebe Faulkner couldn't be so carefree anymore. Even though he'd been acting strange and hostile the moment he returned, lunch still had to be prepared to his tastes.
But she hadn't expected this. Before she could even finish making lunch, she heard the sound of a door opening and closing. Peeking her head out, she looked through the glass door and saw Jace Lennox driving away.
Phoebe Faulkner was utterly dumbfounded. "..."
'Should I even bother finishing lunch?'
Just as Phoebe Faulkner was reeling from Jace Lennox's behavior, unsure of what to do next, the phone in the living room rang.
She washed her hands and walked into the living room to answer it.
