To make matters worse, Jace Lennox and that woman sat down at the table behind her and Kitty—and it felt entirely intentional. From where he sat, Jace had a perfect view of Phoebe Faulkner.
The hot-tempered Kitty shot to her feet.
Phoebe grabbed Kitty and shook her head.
"Phoebe, let's go. We'll find another place." Kitty clenched her fists. In her eyes, Jace belonged to her Phoebe. But if he really did something to wrong Phoebe, she would drag Phoebe away, then come back and teach Jace a harsh lesson. She'd make him understand that some people are not to be trifled with!
Phoebe didn't want to have a meal like this either, not with Jace so close.
"Okay."
With that, the two of them stood up and walked out.
"Hey, snap out of it." The woman across from Jace noticed his strange expression and waved a hand in front of his face. "What are you looking at? Was that someone you know?"
"No one. Let's order."
"Oh."
