'I've already put it on,' Phoebe Faulkner thought. 'I can just change back into the clothes Jace Lennox wanted me to wear when I get back. It'll be fine.' With that, she followed Linda's advice and changed into the outfit.

The guests at the dinner were all people Linda had gone to great lengths to get in with.
Of course, she had her own reasons and plans for asking Phoebe Faulkner to come along.
When the two of them arrived at the hotel where the dinner was being held, Linda deliberately stopped and turned to Phoebe Faulkner. "Once we're inside, be on your best behavior," she said. "If anyone asks about your family, your brother, or even your relationship with Director Calloway, you don't need to hide it. Just tell them everything."
Phoebe Faulkner looked at Linda, confused, not quite grasping what she meant.
