Phoebe Faulkner grew even more nervous, shaking her head. "I... I don't know." Whatever courage she had to defy Jace Lennox had vanished into thin air after she saw him effortlessly take down Chad and Howie.
"You don't know?" With a single shove of his hand, Jace Lennox threw Phoebe Faulkner onto the bed, his entire body pressing down on her. He gazed at Phoebe, reaching for the nightstand and pulling out a rope. "You'll find out soon enough."
"Mr. Lennox!"
Phoebe Faulkner's face turned deathly pale when she saw the rope in Jace Lennox's hand.
"Don't do anything rash! I know I was wrong this time. I shouldn't have lied to you, and I shouldn't have defied you, but I really didn't mean to! I was just scared you'd get angry. Can you please give me another chance?"
Seeing that resisting and struggling were both useless, Phoebe Faulkner immediately changed her strategy. She began to play the victim, trying to look pathetic as she begged for mercy.
