Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Bumping into Portmire's Most Precious Goldsmith (2)

It looked... forbidden.

This hotel was part of the Sheridan Group's hotel chain.

This presidential suite was exclusively for Elliot Sheridan; no one else ever stayed here.

After showering, Georgia Thorne realized she didn't have a change of clothes.

Wrapped in a white bath towel, she stood blankly before the mirror, looking at herself.

Even if she hadn't submitted to Keith Larkin today, Jared Thorne would have used the same methods to give her to another man to achieve his ends.

She had absolutely no way out of this situation.

Unless... she could find someone who could keep Jared Thorne in check.

Her gaze involuntarily drifted toward the door outside. 'Elliot Sheridan…'

His status in Portmire was undeniable.

The most sought-after man in all of Portmire. If she could attach herself to Elliot Sheridan, perhaps she wouldn't be sold from one man to another by Jared Thorne.

Elliot Sheridan was an unattainable man.

But right now, she had no other option but Elliot Sheridan.

If she let this opportunity pass, the next time Jared Thorne sold her off, she wouldn't be lucky enough to be saved.

With that thought, she boldly pushed open the door and walked out.

Outside, her timid gaze swept the room, finally landing on the man standing before the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Elliot Sheridan turned and looked at her, wrapped only in a bath towel.

Georgia Thorne wasn't a devastating beauty, nor was she the type to take your breath away at first sight.

Elliot Sheridan's first impression of her was of someone quiet and well-behaved.

Especially her eyes. They were so clear, so pure.

Elliot Sheridan set down his wine glass, then draped his own pristine suit jacket over her shoulders. "Your clothes are on their way."

Elliot Sheridan was a gentleman.

Generally speaking, when a woman throws herself at a man, very few can resist.

She held him for a long moment, but he gave no reaction.

Tilting her head back, she met Elliot Sheridan's sharp, dark-eyed gaze fixed upon her.

'Panic...'

Elliot Sheridan seemed completely unperturbed by her advances, his expression blank.

His elegant hands gently pried her arms away, and he averted his gaze.

"My apologies. I'm not interested in forward women."

This was the first time she had ever been so forward with a man; she had absolutely no experience.

Her face burned with embarrassment from the rejection.

Clutching the towel tighter around herself, she asked, "Can't you have me?"

Staring at his broad back, she managed to cry out the words with all her might.

Elliot Sheridan turned back around. "Miss Thorne, you are my niece's classmate."

"You're thirteen years my junior. Are you certain you want to be my woman? Aren't you worried about Selena finding out?"

With those few words, the color drained even further from Georgia Thorne's face.

But Elliot Sheridan was her only option.

"Mr. Sheridan, I have no other choice but you. Even if I was lucky enough to escape this time, my father won't let me go. He'll just send me to another man's bed."

Her future had to be in her own hands. Georgia Thorne refused to be sold off to some old man by Jared Thorne just like that.

Therefore, the only person who could save her from this sea of suffering was the man standing before her: Elliot Sheridan.

Elliot Sheridan's gaze narrowed on her, his eyes deep and unreadable. "Miss Thorne, are you even an adult?"
