"I'm not going," Shalma Hughes flatly refused. "The resort project is wrapping up soon, and there'll be plenty to keep me busy. I probably won't be able to spare the time."
"Okay."
With that single word, he hung up the phone.
Listening to the BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP of the dial tone by her ear, Shalma wondered, "Why is this man angry again?"
He was the one who initially said he wasn't going, alright...
Julian Winslow's mind was as deep as the ocean.
Shalma wasn't lying when she said she was busy. She was truly swamped. She usually didn't get back to Winslow Garden from work until midnight, by which time Mrs. Lewis and Butler Archer were already asleep. As for Julian, he seemed incredibly busy this week as well; he hadn't returned to sleep at Winslow Garden even once. According to Mrs. Lewis, Ronan Fordham would call Winslow Garden exactly at five o'clock every afternoon to inform her and Butler Archer whether their boss would be coming home.
