The two remained silent throughout the drive back. It wasn't until they returned to Winslow Garden and got out of the car that she finally spoke to him. "I don't have an appetite for dinner. I'm going back to my room first."
During dinner, Mrs. Lewis saw only Mr. Winslow sitting at the long table, eating unhurriedly. She approached and asked, "Mr. Winslow, should I call Mrs. Winslow down for dinner?"
"There's no need, Mrs. Lewis. She said she doesn't have an appetite," Julian Winslow replied.
"No appetite?" Mrs. Lewis asked in confusion, but a second later, she seemed to realize something. "Mr. Winslow, Mrs. Winslow's appetite didn't seem very good yesterday or the day before, either. Her fever should be gone by now, but her stomach might still need time to recover. I'll make her some light porridge later."
