Lucas Lockwood looked over and saw Julian Winslow bathed in the halo of the lights. He knew it might be inappropriate to bring that up right now, but he couldn't help himself. Perhaps it was a test, or perhaps it was something else entirely.
"Julius, I recently went on a business trip to Portmire, so I visited her," Lucas said.
As soon as the words left his mouth, he grew nervous, his breath catching in his throat.
After a long moment, Julian slowly turned around. He fixed Lucas with a look the latter had never seen before and asked, "You went to see her?"
Lucas froze for a second. His mind raced before he answered, "Yeah. She's doing well now. She hosts a food show in Portmire and lives a good life. At least, she looked pretty good to me..."
