She cupped her face in her hands, her palms covering her stinging, watery eyes.
After a moment to compose herself, she looked up again.
The instant she did, her gaze met Damian Fairchild's dark, brooding eyes.
In the inky depths of his eyes, she saw her own reflection and a face that was a little too pale.
She pressed her lips together and spoke calmly.
