To be more precise, it should be called Command & Conquer: Red Alert.
It's a spin-off of the overall Command & Conquer series.
This major series also had several other product lines.
But for Zog, the one he was most familiar with was definitely Red Alert.
When he was a child, he had never even heard of Command & Conquer.
He had only ever played Red Alert.
To be precise, it was the version Red Alert 2: Glory of the Republic.
For a long time, he thought this was the official version.
I'm sure many people, like him, once believed the same thing.
In that version, the strength of the mysterious Eastern power was astonishingly high. There were amphibious mining vehicles scurrying everywhere, on land and sea. There were tanks that were several times more expensive but also several times stronger. And then there were the even more ridiculously overpowered carrier-based fighters...
There was no game balance; it was all about the thrill.
