The simple words, carried on his warm breath, drifted past Seraphina's ear. The corners of her lips curved up as her hands instinctively wrapped around his lean waist.
They held each other tightly, a tender warmth enveloping them, so much so that even the brilliant fireworks became nothing more than their backdrop.
"Hey, you two, stop with the PDA already," Sean Reginald shrugged, complaining helplessly. "You're so sweet you're going to make us lose our appetite for cake." But his eyes were full of genuine blessings for them.
