Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Marrow Cleansing

"Yeah, that one seems to be full of high-quality jade, Master. Open it and take a look." At Trudy's words, Seraphina Ashworth reached out and opened the box, discovering a massive piece of Mutton Fat Jade and some fine jadeite inside.

'If I have these carved into Jade Pendants and soak them in the spring water for a while, the effects should be pretty good when I give them to my family to wear,' Seraphina Ashworth thought.

"Master, come on, let's go see the other places!" Trudy said, running out of the house.

Seraphina Ashworth closed the box and followed Trudy outside.

"Master, look. You can plant fruit, medicinal herbs, and things like that on those empty plots of land. Everything grown in this space is infused with Spiritual Energy, so it's good for your health. That plot over there is planted with the world's rarest medicinal herbs—some of which are already extinct. After you pick them, they automatically grow back," Trudy chattered on, squatting at Seraphina Ashworth's feet.

"Trudy, what are those silver fish in the pool beneath the waterfall?" Seraphina Ashworth asked, pointing to the pool in the distance.

"Ah, those are called Spiritlings. They have high medicinal value and are very nutritious. You can use them for Alchemy or cook them into meals."

"Mhm. The other Purple Bamboo House is full of antiques and medicinal herb seeds. There's also something special: ten puppet robots. They look no different from ordinary people. Master, you can give them orders, and they'll do things for you. They can also help manage the daily chores around the space."

"Oh? Something that unusual? Let's go take a look."

Opening the door to the Purple Bamboo House, Seraphina Ashworth was stunned by the vast collection of precious antiques and gems inside. On a huge wooden cabinet, various medicinal herb seeds were arranged in rows, each labeled with its name underneath. And in a corner of the room, ten robots with the appearance of ordinary people stood in two rows—five male and five female. If it weren't for their stillness, you'd think they were real.

After a quick inspection, Seraphina Ashworth walked out of the Purple Bamboo House and immediately sat cross-legged on the ground, lost in thought. Trudy stayed quietly beside her.

"Alright, here's the plan. Trudy, I want you to divide the land into three sections: one for an orchard, one for vegetables, and one for medicinal herbs. Then, get rid of the two Purple Bamboo Houses and build a small three-story building. The first floor will be a living room and kitchen, the second floor will be my Alchemy Chamber, and the third floor will be my bedroom. I'll draw up the blueprints for the interior design and give them to you later. Just give the construction orders to the robots. For now, I'm going to take the Bone Marrow Cleansing Pill to cleanse my meridians and marrow, which will allow me to cultivate the Nine Nether Cold Technique." After slowly laying out her plan, Seraphina Ashworth stood up and walked into the Purple Bamboo House that stored the Cultivation Techniques.

Seraphina Ashworth poured an Ice Soul Pill from a bottle, swallowed it, and sat down cross-legged. A sudden surge of heat erupted from her Dantian, and excruciating pain wracked her entire body. Seraphina Ashworth gritted her teeth, her body trembling violently from the pain, yet she didn't make a single sound.

A little over an hour later, Trudy came running in from outside. It ran up to Seraphina Ashworth and poked her hand with its paw. "Master, how are you doing?"

"I'm fine." Seraphina Ashworth's voice was raspy. As she sat up, she looked as if she'd been dragged through a mud puddle, and she reeked.

"Trudy, is there any way you can get the water from the Springwell Pool into the bathtub in my room's bathroom?" All Seraphina Ashworth wanted right now was to take a bath.

"Yes, I can. I'll get on it right away. Master, can you take me out of the space with you?" Trudy asked, putting on its most adorable expression as it pleaded to go outside.

"Alright, but we have to set some ground rules. You can only stay in my room. If someone comes, you have to hide. In a little while, I'll figure out an excuse, and then you can come out into the open."

"Oh, that's wonderful!" Trudy began to frolic, running all over the place.

Seraphina Ashworth closed her eyes, and with a mere thought, she and Trudy were back in her bedroom. She glanced at the clock on the wall; it was only two-thirty. Only about an hour had passed since she first entered the space.

After grabbing a set of pajamas, Seraphina Ashworth went into the bathroom. She saw that the tub was already full of water, with Trudy waiting nearby.

"Trudy, go play outside by yourself. And remember, don't let anyone see you." The moment Trudy heard it could go play, it vanished in a flash.

Seraphina Ashworth changed out of her clothes and submerged herself in the tub.

When she got out, there was no sign of Trudy. She didn't think much of it and went straight to bed, falling asleep instantly.

When she woke up, she found Trudy curled into a little ball, asleep beside her. She glanced up; it was almost six o'clock.

'Oh crap, if I don't go out now, Mom and the others are going to come looking for me.' Seraphina Ashworth immediately got up, changed her clothes, and headed for the living room.

When Seraphina Ashworth reached the living room, she saw that the members of the Reginald and Blaine Families had all left, leaving only the Ashworth Family.

"Seraphina, you're awake. Dinner is almost ready," Sylvia Blaine said, beckoning for Seraphina Ashworth to come sit with her.

After dinner, Seraphina Ashworth spent some time with the Ashworth Family in the living room before returning to her own building.

When Seraphina Ashworth got back to her building, she found Trudy was already awake and hopping around on the floor. With Trudy in tow, she instantly teleported into the space.

In the Purple Bamboo House, Seraphina Ashworth found a writing brush and paper and began to write.

"Master, what are you doing?"

"My recent changes, and the things I'll be taking out of this space in the future, are bound to confuse my family. So I need to come up with a good excuse beforehand," Seraphina Ashworth explained while practicing her calligraphy. "By the way, Trudy, don't call me Master anymore. Just call me Seraphina. I see you as my partner and my comrade."

"Okay, Seraphina, you're so good to me." Trudy was deeply moved by Seraphina Ashworth's words.

"Right, Trudy… I can't bring anyone else into this space, can I?" Seraphina Ashworth suddenly recalled the matter.

"Well, it's not completely impossible… but I'm not sure if the legend is true," Trudy said, scratching its head uncertainly.
