Sylvia Sterling and Jude Langley sat down for a meal.
A soft, comforting congee and a light stir-fry.
Despite being the most common of home-cooked dishes, they evoked a warm, comforting sense of peaceful times.
"Was that Connor Linden you were calling back?"
Sylvia took a couple of spoonfuls of her congee and broke the silence.
Jude Langley didn't hide anything. "Yeah," he answered directly. "I was having him pass a message to Jace Sheffield."
"He can reach him?"
"He can." Jude met Sylvia's eyes and said bluntly, "Jace Sheffield is in Coronet City."
Sylvia nodded calmly. "As long as you can reach him, that's all that matters."
The conversation about Jace Sheffield ended there.
Sylvia didn't ask another word.
Seeing her reaction, Jude added, "Regarding his grandfather, Connor Linden had someone pass along the message. He'll probably be back in Oakhaven soon."
Sylvia seemed distracted.
She responded absently with a polite phrase, "Thank you for your trouble."
