Sylvia Sterling looked up from her documents.
Seeing the caller ID, she hesitated for a moment before declining the call.
"You may continue."
The project manager said, "Oh," and quickly resumed what he had been saying.
However, the usually meticulous Sylvia Sterling found her mind wandering during the rest of the conversation.
After glancing at the phone on her desk for the third time, she finally gave in, picked it up, and opened WeChat to send him a two-word message: [In meeting.]
He replied instantly: [Focus on work. Talk later.]
With her mind at ease, Sylvia Sterling was able to fully immerse herself in her work.
Forty minutes later, the small group discussion ended.
"Ms. Sterling, we'll head back to our rooms now. You should get some rest too."
Sylvia Sterling saw them out. "We'll meet in the lobby at eight tomorrow morning."
"Okay, got it."
Once they had left, Sylvia Sterling closed the door and engaged the safety lock.
