Stella's heart sank. 'This is bad.'
She couldn't help but look to her sister for help.
Sylvia Sterling caught her sister's pleading gaze and smiled. "I heard from Mr. Thorne that you have a flower shop on Marlen Street?"
"Right, right." Stella nodded, as if struck by inspiration. "Starsea City is pretty close to Marlen Street. So, Mom, you see…"
"See what!" Mrs. Sterling glared at her two daughters. "Don't you two try to play me. Move back home, and hurry up about it. It's not up for discussion."
Stella was speechless. 'It's over.'
'If I move back home, how is that any different from a long-distance relationship?'
Dinner was served at six o'clock.
Stella sat down in the dining room, her mind in a daze.
She occasionally glanced at her phone, wishing time would slow down a little.
Roman Rhodes was landing in Calderin at eight, and she still wanted to go pick him up.
