Sean Quinn felt a searing heat crawl up his face. He spun around and bolted, fleeing for his life.
As he was about to bolt from the master bedroom, he realized he hadn't closed the bathroom door for her. He turned back, not daring to look inside, and pulled the door shut with his eyes squeezed tight. Then he truly fled, as swift as a leopard.
THUMP THUMP THUMP, down the stairs he went.
THUMP THUMP THUMP, he burst into the bathroom.
THUMP THUMP THUMP, he ran into the shower stall.
He deftly stripped off the vomit-stained shirt, tossed it to the floor, and stepped under the showerhead. He let the cold water pour over him, washing away the sudden, restless heat that had surged through his body... Only then did he gradually begin to calm down.
But when he braced his hands against the wall and closed his eyes, his mind was still filled with the pulse-pounding images from just moments ago.
Sigh!
