After getting the call, Blair White was completely dumbfounded. He was in a daze, wondering, 'Why on earth am I getting this call out of the blue?'
"Are you sure you want me to come over while you two are out having fun? I'm not going to say anything nice, you know. I really don't think you should have called me."
"Besides, if I come over, it'll just make things awkward for you two. It would've been better if you hadn't called. Are you up to something again?"
It was as if something had suddenly occurred to Blair White, prompting his question. 'She must have some scheme in mind; otherwise, she wouldn't have called me out of the blue like this.'
That was the only explanation that came to mind.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have blurted out the question.
"Can you stop overthinking? I just felt like calling you, that's all."
Megan Kane felt he was thinking way too much. 'How does he come up with all these wild ideas? I just called to ask, there's nothing more to it.'
