The fireworks rehearsal ended, and the night sky fell quiet and dark.
The only person left in Joyce's camera frame was Liam Wentworth. Suddenly, her phone vibrated. It was a call from Sheila Sinclair. "Sorry, something held me up. I went back to look for you, but you were gone."
"I'm with Thorne," Joyce said.
"Okay, good. I'm heading back to my room, then. See you at the wedding tomorrow."
After that, Joyce didn't see her again. The next day, the entire resort was bustling with activity. As guests, all they had to do was attend the wedding ceremony itself. Joyce heard the resort had a crafts studio for pottery and clay sculpting, and she wanted to check it out.
When she knocked on her brother's door, she was met with Kian Jacobs's dark, sullen face.
He looked exhausted, exasperated, and was barely suppressing his anger.
"Kian? What's wrong?"
"Liam Wentworth crashed here last night and kept me up for half the night talking nonsense." Kian's head was still pounding.
