Half an hour later, Summer Thorne was bailed out of the police station.
She had only been there for about a day, and the personal impact was minimal. Still, Xavier Lockwood couldn't help but frown when he saw her.
"I'm gone for a little while, and you get yourself into this kind of mess?"
Summer Thorne smiled at him. "What mess? I'm perfectly fine, see?"
Xavier Lockwood glanced at the expressions on the faces of the officers behind her and chuckled. "Of course you're fine. Have you seen how many VIPs have been in and out of this office for you in just one day? If you weren't okay, how could you ever justify all their effort?"
With that, Xavier Lockwood took her hand and led her outside.
